- 275 g Mehl
- 2,5 g Natron
- 3 g Salz
- 175 g ungesalzene Butter, geschmolzen
- 200 g brauner Zucker
- 100 g Kristallzucker
- 15 ml Vanilleextrakt
- 2 große Eier
- 350 g Schokoladenchips
- 200 g Zucker
- 85 g gesalzene Butter, zimmerwarm, in Stücken
- 125 ml Sahne, zimmerwarm
- 5 g Meersalz
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 190°C.
- Melt the unsalted butter in a large bowl.
- Add the brown and granulated sugars to the butter and mix until creamy.
- Incorporate the vanilla extract and then mix in the eggs one at a time.
- Combine the dry ingredients and gently fold into the mixture until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips carefully.
- Prepare a rectangular baking dish (23×33 cm) by lining with parchment paper.
- Press the cookie dough evenly into the prepared baking pan.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until the edges are golden and the center is still slightly soft.
- Let cool slightly on a wire rack before preparing the salted caramel.
- For the caramel, melt the sugar in a medium saucepan over medium heat without stirring.
- Add the salted butter piece by piece to the melted sugar and stir until combined.
- Stir in the warm cream gradually while the mixture bubbles.
- Simmer for about a minute, then remove from heat and mix in the sea salt.
- Pour the warm caramel over the cooled cookie base evenly.
- Allow to cool completely until the caramel is set before cutting into bars.
Notes
For extra chewy bars, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking. Use high-quality chocolate chips for better taste.
